Step-by-Step Interior Design and Execution Process
OUR PROCESS AT LUXERIOR (DESIGN, PAYMENTS AND EXECUTION)
Our comprehensive step-by-step process lets you understand all the stages that are involved in designing and execution.
This will provide you with the exact clarity from the beginning towards the very end of what exactly happens when you hire us for your interior project.
It mentions stages of Billing and Payments and Execution plans as they ensue.
Along with it, roles and responsibilities for clients and Luxerior at each stage are also included as they come into the picture individually and collectively.
STEP 1:
GET IN TOUCH
DONE BY: CLIENT
While there are a number of ways you can get connected to us, we highly recommend you start by filling up a small ‘ENQUIRY FORM’ on our website to start a formal dialogue regarding your query.
This form will guide you to fill up the exact information that is needed, in case you don’t know where to start.
Once you fill-up the form, you will immediately receive an email for your next action plan with the contact details of the relevant person, along with some important links to our website such as our portfolio, services, and useful blogs.
STEP 2:
CONSULTATION MEETING
DONE BY: CLIENT & LUXERIOR
AGENDA
The initial consultation is about understanding you and your functional and design requirement. We try to clearly understand our scope of work, what is already provided and what clients wish to bring themselves. On the basis of requirement and inclusion-exclusion details, we provide a block estimate for you to get an initial idea about financials.
OPTIONS FOR MEETING
Studio Meeting: We highly recommend you to take out some time and meet us in our office, given all the sample and technological support available for better understanding.
On-Site Meeting: The second option is to meet at the site or your place if you can’t manage to come down to our studio. We can come to your place for a small visit charge applicable as per proximity of our location.
MEETING CHECKLIST FOR CLIENTS
Note down your functional requirement as clearly as possible.
Keep your layout and video/pictures of the property ready for specific discussions in case you decide to meet in our studio.
Try to research and know your design style.
Decide how much you want to spend on your interiors. This will help your designer provide different solutions to suit your budget and present accurate estimates.
STEP 3:
BLOCK ESTIMATE
DONE BY: LUXERIOR
As per your functional and design requirements discussed in the meeting, your designer arrives at a specific per square feet cost to calculate your block estimate. This per square feet cost is calculated on the basis of the designer’s own level of expertise, previous experience, and the prevailing market rates at that time. Once this rate per square feet is arrived at, it is multiplied by the total carpet area of your space to get the block estimate.
STEP 4:
PAY 10% OF ESTIMATE
DONE BY: CLIENT
WHAT TO EXPECT
SITE MEASUREMENTS
Site visit for measurements marks the initiation of execution. This data is used for the most accurate 2D space planning and 3D modelling.
LAYOUT FINALIZATION & ELEVATIONS
We will provide suitable options for furniture placement and layout finalization.
MOOD BOARD FINALIZATION
Once the functional requirements are finalized, we finalize the mood board for aesthetics and design.
3D DESIGN & MATERIAL SELECTION
Once the mood boards and elevations are approved, we move ahead with the 3D modelling. Major material selection is done at this stage.
On the basis of final design after 3D model is complete, we can provide the estimated timeline for project completion.
STEP 5:
BOQ (Billing of Quantities)/ Detailed Quotation
DONE BY: LUXERIOR
On the basis of approved 3D design, the Billing of Quantities (BOQ) is prepared.
BOQ includes the description of all the materials, their quantities, particulars, rates, and amount for each work head that comprises the entire project.
It also mentions the necessary terms and conditions such as inclusion and exclusion lists, payment terms, installation and other terms.
STEP 6:
COMPLETE 60% PAYMENT of THE BOQ
DONE BY: CLIENT
Once the BOQ is approved, you will need to complete the payment at 60% of the BOQ amount.
The previous 10% payment made against the block estimate is adjusted to the finalized BOQ amount.
WHAT TO EXPECT
ON-SITE EXECUTION TILL CARCASS STAGE & MAJOR PROCUREMENTS
All kinds of civil work, framing, wiring, concealed works, fixed furniture carcass installations, ducting, etc. is started.
Most of procurements and execution payments are to be done at this stage and hence the maximum payment required.
STEP 7:
PAY NEXT 25% OF BOQ
DONE BY: CLIENT
WHAT TO EXPECT
COMPLETION OF INTERIOR FINISHINGS AND INSTALLATIONS
At this stage, final finishing work such as lamination/overlays (done by Luxerior) and final installation of external fixtures and furniture (assisted by Luxerior) is done. This stage usually takes longer than the previous stage, as it involves numerous meticulous jobs which involve handling and installing all the expensive finishing materials that are procured by Luxerior as well as clients.
STEP 8:
PAY FINAL 5% OF BOQ
DONE BY: CLIENT
WHAT TO EXPECT
PAINTING & DEEP CLEANING
Once the final materials have been overplayed and installed, your site is ready for painting. We have to make sure every other finishing and installation, however small, is complete before the painting begins. Once the painting is complete, the entire site is cleaned and remaining debris is cleared from the site.
STEP 9:
FURNISHING & STYLING ASSISTANCE
We help you with the final setup of your furniture, soft furnishing, and décor to get that cohesive and picture-perfect dream space. This might take a few more days to set up everything depending upon the scale of work and assuming all the material has arrived already.
As per the mutual understanding, this could be made part of the project with separate estimates and billings.
STEP 10:
HANDOVER
DONE BY: LUXERIOR
A final handover checklist is made. All the installations and work is inspected again for proper functioning and if any discrepancy related to our work is found, it is resolved before the final handover.
